3/3/2010 - Democrats Desperate For Health Care Votes
Democrats on Capitol Hill seem to be strugging to find the votes for health care reform. Their task may continue to be an uphill battle if things keep going like they are right now. Rep. Bart Stupak announced today that he could not support the health care bill regardless of the language on abortion:
Mr. Stupak said in an interview that even if the abortion language were tightened, he still couldn't support the bill, because it didn't include the House's tighter regulations on insurance companies, and it retained a tax on high-value insurance plans, albeit a watered-down one. "We're not going to walk the plank again just to see the Senate shut us down," he said.
